Our Maker Space Is Open!
Dear Aldrin Community,
We are so excited to announce that our Maker Space is officially open for business! So far it has seen earthquake proof homes, ladybug displays, robotic hands, and the invention of new monsters. We’re hoping that every class in the building will have multiple opportunities to come down and participate in STEAM activities or imaginative creation sessions.
We’re using as many recycled goods as possible in the Maker Space and even breaking down some final products to repurpose the materials. We would welcome and appreciate donations of any of the following:
Cardboard of all sizes
Magazines
Toilet paper, paper towel, or wrapping paper rolls (these are like GOLD)
Fabric scraps
Buttons
Beads
Plastic bottles/jars
Plastic caps
Popsicle Sticks
Leftover art supplies or materials (pom poms, tissue paper, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, etc)
String/yarn/ribbon
Stickers
Blocks or other building toys
Party decorations post-party (streamers, garlands, etc)
Anything else you are about to recycle that could possibly be used to problem solve, build, and decorate!
Your trash is definitely our treasure. There will be collection boxes in the lobby for donations. Thank you in advance for keeping us in mind while you sort your recyclables or clean out closets and cupboards.
We’ve also developed a wish list (big emphasis on WISH) of materials and resources that would be wonderful to add to our space.
