Project-Based Learning (PBL)
Project-Based Learning (PBL)
Aldrin Elementary is embracing Project-Based Learning (PBL) as a teaching method proving foundation skills needed for success in college, career and life. Students gain skills in, to name a few, research, communication, collaboration and presentation. PBL projects allow students to gain knowledge and skills to investigate and respond to an authentic, engaging and complex questions, problem solving, or challenges.
Using our Standards of Learning and Program of Studies, students are given inquiry driving questions which encapsulate our core curriculum standards. Students then generate a list of "Need to Know" items to complete their task. Upon completion of their tasks, students are asked to present their experience to an authentic audience.
Our students are gaining vital skills to succeed in their future beyond school; responsibility, creation, resiliency and passion.
